The kite-flying season this year has gained noticeably more popularity across Egypt, as a result of lockdown measures aiming to prevent the spread of coronavirus, and therefore limited opportunities to catch a fresh breath of air. Join us in this video as we climb to the rooftops of Mahalla al-Kubra and share with its residents details of their passion: flying high and free. As kitemaker Al-Sayed al-Rahimi likes to put it: “Better to stay at home and fly a kite, than go outside and risk your health and might.”
