Interim President Adly Mansour arrived in Kuwait Sunday to take part in the third Arab-African Summit to boost regional economic ties, EgyNews reported.
Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmy, International Cooperation Minister Ziad Bahaa Eddin and Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour are also part of the Egyptian delegation attending the summit on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabbah and other officials welcomed the delegation at the airport, according to the state-owned news site.
Fahmy also addressed the possibility of another smaller summit hosted by Kuwait on Nile Basin water issues, saying at a press conference that “Egypt welcomes any joint efforts to solve the problem.” However, he expressed doubts that the Ugandan president would take part in such a summit, according to state-run news portal Ahram Gate.
The foreign minister also said that since arriving he has met with several of his African counterparts who showed interest in Egypt’s political road map, according to the website.
